I’ve probably spent more time in a Sea Eagle Sport Runabout than any other Sea Eagle inflatable boat. The Sport Runabouts with their big tubes and stable ride are my choice when fishing or playing on the water. Hang a big outboard on the transom and the inflatable V-keeled Sport Runabouts can go! The big Sea Eagle 12.6 SR Sport Runabout and Sea Eagle 14SR Sport Runabout can actually pull a knee-boarder, tuber, or skier with either a 30HP or 40 HP outboard.
I have used a Sea Eagle 10.6SR Sport Runabout with a lightweight Nissan 9.8 4-stroke and run, fast, all weekend on a 3.1 tank of gas. The 10.6 is fine for 2 or 3 but gets a little crowded with four and won’t plane when you approach 500 lbs. payload. Pick the Nissan 15 hp motor if you want to plane 4 or better yet move up to the 12.6SR and a 18HP Nissan Outboard.We did...and now after three years of extensive use the Sea Eagle 12.6 Sport Runabout is Tim's Best Pick in the Sport Runabout model lineup. I especially like the way the big pointed-bow design of the Sea Eagle 12.6 Sport Runabout knocks the waves aside while plowing through heavy waters. This is a big tough roomy boat with amazing stability in all kinds of water.
All new is the Sea Eagle 10.6 SR-RIK Sport Runabout. The big news is that the Sea Eagle 10.6 SR-RIK has gone on an "extreme diet" and is 43 pounds lighter then the previous molded plastic floorboard model of the Sea Eagle 10.6 due mainly to a couple of big improvements. The 45 pound floorboards have been replaced with a new Dropstich Rigid Floor which weighs just 15 pounds and the keel assembly has been moved outside and is also drop-stich construction which increases perfrmance, reduces set-up time, and is also lighter. The Sea Eagle 10.6SR Sport Runabout is a perfect choice for two or three. Be carefull if your passenger load is consistently 4 or more. The Coast Guard rating on this boat is 5 passengers or 1200 pounds which it will easily carry...in fact....all on one side if necessary. But the reality is that you'll use up the floor space in a hurry with the gear that four passengers carry aboard. Move up to Sea Eagle's big guys, the 12.6SR or the flagship Sea Eagle 14SR if you're consistently carrying a crowd. We now use a 12.6 Daytrip as our personal boat, replacing our 10.6, because we often have 4 passengers and, let's face it, size does matter!

SeaEagle 10.6SR Sport Runabout Inflatable Boat
This model is one fast little runabout. Designed to carry up to a 15 h.p. engine, this boat will travel at 25 knots and handle rough seas with ease. The 6" inflatable keel cuts through waves and provides excellent turning performance. The large 15.5" inflatable tubes provide incredible buoyancy and greater rigidity. Even though this boat is only 10' 6" long, it is still very seaworthy even in large ocean swells.
A great feature of this model is the fact that this is a true little speedboat, yet it is still lightweight, compact and easy to assemble. This makes it an all-purpose runabout for sportsmen, yachtsmen, fishermen, scuba divers, campers. I give the five star rating. We used it on a lake in Montana all summer, powered by a 36 lb. thrust Minnkota.
We used it mostly to troll for trout. We partially assemble the boat and carry it semi inflated in the back of our pickup when we take the travel trailer to lakes near and far from home. This arrangement works well and I am pretty much able to handle the boat by myself while unloading however it takes both of us to reload it in the truck from the boat ramp.

The First Boat With Drop Stitch Floor And true Sport Boat Performance!

Drop stitch floor boats without keels tend to slide when turning and simply do not plane properly at high speeds - they plow with their bow up instead of getting on a plane at twice the speed. Drop stitch boats with internal keels do plane better, but are far tippier than standard floorboard boats and their drop stitch floors tend to bend where the keel is. We have solved all of these problems with a unique new design which utilizes an outside drop stitch keel. This provides tremendous stability, razor sharp turning abilities and the same high speed planing performance of hard floorboard boats.
The big advantage of this new kind of boat with a drop stitch keel is that this boat has gone on "an extreme diet". Instead of weighing 136 lbs. like our previous 10.6 SR with plastic floorboards, this new SE10.6 SR-RIK weighs a mere 93 lbs. That's right, it is a full 43 lbs. lighter. And, because the drop stich inflatable keel is on the outside of the boat it does not bend the drop stitch floor. Not only is this lighter and more compact, it is also easier to assemble because all you do is inflate it (i.e. the inflatable floor rolls up with the boat).
There are advantages to both our larger plastic floorboard boats, offered in our 12.6sr-rik and 14sr-rik, and our 10.6 sr drop stitch RIK boats. The plastic floorboards provide more rigidity for standing and fishing and is recomened if you are looking for a work boat, but the rigid inflatable drop stitch floor when combined with a rigid inflatable keel provides good stability in a much smaller lighter package.
