ORDINARY kayaks LIMIT your adventuring...

Most other inflatables are good for Whitewater paddling OR flatwater touring - but not both.

Whitewater inflatables are "wet-only" boats. They drain excess whitewater in wet conditions but leave you wet and cold in flatwater

Flatwater inflatables - dry only boats - have no drain valves so they're useless if you get into rough water.

Our new, smaller size 340 Explorer canoe is ideal for 2 people and a few days of camping gear. For those of you interested in solo white water kayaking, the Sea Eagle 340x is easier to handle for one person in white water than our larger 380x, yet it can still hold two people and gear comfortably. Tougher, wider and more rigid than our Sea Eagle 330, the Sea Eagle Explorer 340x is made for the most demanding wilderness situations. This model features 6 d-rings on top of the pontoons for totally secure seat attachment.

Do buy the optional Directional Stabilizer. The Directional Stabilizer will eliminate about 80% of the yaw when you're using your Explorer in flat water. Yaw is the tendency of a buoyant inflatable kayak to zigzag across flat water. Sea Eagle has just come out with a much-needed improvement to the Directional Stabilizer and all Explorers are now being shipped with the improved mounting bracket on the boat.

In late August Sea Eagle has begun to ship upgraded paddles in both the Deluxe and Pro Option Groups of all PaddleSki 395 and 435 as well as the Explorer 340, 380, and 420's

The AB30 8' Two-Piece Paddle prviously standard in the Deluxe Packge has been upgraded to a new

4-Piece 7'10"(240cm) Paddle.

The AB-40 8' 2 Piece paddle previously standard in the Pro Package has been upgraded to a new

2-Piece 7'10"(240cm) Clear Blue Hawaii Fiberglass Composite Paddle.

The toughest off-road vehicles have skid plate protection underneath; In the same way, the Explorer Kayak has two separate floors for double protection where you most need it:

An outside, super-tough 1000 denier fabric floor
A sepearate inner inflatable floor lashed down on top of the outer floor

The Explorer Kayak’s super-tough hide and wet-or-dry self-bailing drain valves are just two of the ways this boat flaunts its snotty, “bring it on” attitude. Integrated bow and stern spray skirts have water-deflecting guards to keep you dry and rope lacing that forms secure hand-holds and convenient tie-down points.

The Explorer Kayak can be piloted by one and easily accommodates two adventurers and tons of gear. With a beam of just over three feet wide, you get extreme stability. Two shock-absorbing inflatable seats (or optional high-back seats) are held rock-solid with nylon webbing that clips to six integrated D-rings. The Explorer Kayak comes complete and ready for action.
